Dear Friend,
Last year, my Dad died suddenly and unexpectedly.
His whole life he had been a strong, healthy man who ate well, enjoyed every moment and was even pumping iron at the local gym way into his 70s. He was a U.S. Army Veteran rising to the rank of 1st Lieutenant, and through hard work, he had become a self-made man with a very successful business. He was extremely generous, honest, and had made hundreds of friends.
One morning in late January 2021, my Dad was rushed to the hospital and died three days later. It all happened so fast. I didn’t even have a chance to make it back across the country before he died.
But that wasn't the only tragedy. Despite my Dad having been so popular and so generous to so many, only a handful of people came to his funeral.
